Page from the Revere Family Bible, 1813

About Item:
We’re all familiar with birthdays and wedding anniversaries. This page from Paul Revere’s Bible is important for another reason though – his birth year. In 1752, England adopted the Gregorian calendar, which was used in most of the rest of the world and this changed some dates from one year to the next. For many years, since only his baptismal date was recorded, we weren’t sure if Paul was born in 1734 or 1735, by our modern calendars. The discovery of this bible, however, confirmed that he was born in December of 1734.
