Letter from Maria Revere to Rachel Revere, 1801
Family
About Item:
Maria was Paul and Rachel’s youngest daughter. Because she was born after Paul had been working for years at progressively more lucrative jobs, the family had more money to spend on things like education than they did when Paul’s oldest children were born. Maria went to Woburn, Massachusetts, to a boarding school when she was 16 years old. This letter she wrote to her mother in 1801 tells us how she was feeling and who she was thinking about while she was away from home.
